Arrived 21st march hotel 10 mins walk from Euston, stayed 2 nights very clean and breakfast excellent,if I could nit pick it would be shower cubicle a bit small but hay ho it didn’t affect the stay .hotel is positioned brilliant for west end 10 min walk, would definitely go back you wont go far wrong with this friendly hotel.
We stayed at Thanet because of the location near to where our daughter was staying with here college for 3 months. We could have not have been more pleased. Traditional English breakfast served each morning. You had other wonderful breakfast choices also. Great location to 2 tube stations and many bus stops. British Museum is just a short walk away as are many good restaurants and pubs…
“Inexpensive last minute booking.”
Using Laterooms.com gave us the option of the Thanet. What a good choice! We needed an inexpensive overnight stay somewhere close to the West End as we managed to get last minute tickets for “The Lion King”. Leicester Square is about a twenty minute walk. The room was clean and tidy with ample tea & coffee available.
We had a lovely stay at the Thanet, it’s in a great location, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Oxford Street. Some how it manages to feel, quiet, secluded and very homely. The rooms are a little basic but are clean and have all you could need, although due to the age of the building the floor boards do squeak and the beautiful sash windows don’t quite close as well a they used to.
“A very nice hotel in central London”
This hotel was clean, beds and rooms were comfortable, and breakfast was amazing (typically english indeed)!!
The staff was particularly friendly and kind, always smiling and good-mooded! Moreover, the location was perfect, 5-min walk to Holborn station 😉
“Happiness is a London hotel called Thanet”
I’ve said this before, and I’m saying it again. The Thanet is arguably the best modestly priced hotel in London. I always look forward to staying there (and I go on business so a stress-free environment is essential), and to staying in “my” room. No – I’ll never divulge which one for obvious reasons! Staff? Friendly, cheerful and attentive..
“Reasonable price for London”
We like to stay in Bloomsbury. It is on the Piccadilly tube line, which is handy when traveling from Heathrow Airport. It is also an easy walk to the British Museum, the British Library, Covent Garden, as well as other museums, theaters and restaurants. This time we stayed on the ground floor and the Wi-Fi worked fine. Wi-Fi on the upper floors is “iffy.”
Could not fault anything, room was spotless, beds comfortable and breakfast was very good. Hotel was in a perfect location for a weekend visit to my niece who is studying at the LSE, which was about a 10 min walk away. So pleased to have found somewhere that we will certainly return to.
